Workshop for Young Scientists (1st International Workshop)

One major goal of the WMRIF is to attract and promote you. Scientists in the field of materials science and engineering (MSE).
You are thus invited to participate the 1st International Workshop for Young Scientists. It was thus decided to organize joint workshops for young scientists within the member institutes with the intention to build a platform to get known to each other, to build co-operations and to exchange knowledge.

 This workshop of the World Materials Research Institute Forum (WMRIF) will focus on the designated 3 materials science and engineering topics:
  – Materials for sustainable energy and environment applications
  – Materials to increase the safety and reliability of components
  – Materials modelling

During the workshop the best paper will be selected and will be awarded on the afternoon of the third day. The award includes a free visit for up to two weeks of up to three WMRIF member institutes contributing to the award.

Papers
Contributions to the three workshop subjects, Materials for sustainable energy technology, Materials for reliable and safe components, Materials simulation should be recommended by the WMRIF member institutes. However, it is also possible to submit abstracts on own initiative. Leading authors should be postdoctoral researchers with considerably well research record. Keynote speakers will be invited.

Submission of Abstracts:
Up to 300 word abstracts, including author name, address and phone, should be submitted via e-mail by May 1st, 2008 to the Vice President of WMRIF:
 Dr. Thomas Bollinghaus (BAM)
or to the central secretariat of WMRIF:
 Dr. Masaki Kitagawa (NIMS)
 Dr. Jurgen Lexow (BAM)

Acceptance of Abstracts:
 Authors of technical papers will be notified about acceptance until May 15, 2008. Final papers (up to 10 pages) should be ready and electronically available until June 30, 2008.

I think this is great instead of them playing with there nintendo ds accessories , they are actually learning how to become scientists. This is really cool. Kids need help and support to get a good start.

I like this idea. Kids need to get a good start with a lot of support. I know I needed a lot of support before I started my personal loans company. Today it is a success.

I agree. I attended a program like this when I was younger and now I run a successful Internet Merchant Accounts business. Hopefully we'll see more programs like this offered to more students.

I think these workshops are a great idea. Many kids need things to do these days. You would be surprised how talented most of them are. Last week I had one young man fix my xbox 360 system error very easily which I tried to work on for weeks.

I think this is great way to keep kids out of trouble. As a child I loved science. You guys keep up the good work.

This is really cool. I come from an urban environment and we never had things like this when I was a child. These kids are really smart and they are the future of our country. I have a car donation website and we donate to help colleges as much as we can.

This is really great and it gives kids something to do. I manage many merchant accounts and I would love to create some programs to help kids in our city.

As a Principal of a school I can tell you how wonderful it is to have advanced and enrichment opportunities for students in the field of science and well as giving students the opportunity to travel to such great places as Neuseeland

This is a great program that will definitely help many kids that have alot of talent. I am surprised how cool this actually is and I wish we had things like this when I was growing up.

We must encourage our students in the study of science. Our schools should place more emphasis on teaching students the importance of science as a study and possible profession.Early Identification of Cerebral Palsy

This could prevent many youngsters from committing crimes or just sitting at their homes playing games and watching TV's or surfing the internet for porn.

This events instead could stimulate their minds to be productive and reach what their true potentials are.
