In respond to the 1st forum meeting in 2005 in Tsukuba, Japan, a number of approaches for international cooperation in materials research have been discussed by the heads of materials research institutes from all over the world.
The participants highly appreciated the character of the forum and agreed to perform such events biannually and reconvene at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM), Berlin, Germany.
